include Google Group email addresses in the O365 GAL
context
- Searching for "valid and known" email recipients within the UW is a useful capability provided by the Office 365 Global Address List (GAL).
- Google Groups is provided as a mailing list solution to campus as a "Core" GSuite/Google App (https://kb.wisc.edu/22475).
- UW's API Store provides RESTful access to manage Google Groups (https://api.wisc.edu).
- Currently, email addresses used by Google Groups are not visible in the GAL.
request
We would like to be able to use Outlook/O365 to look up a Google Group's email address in the GAL.
The Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook tool appears to provide this functionality at an instance level.
The Google Groups API can manage GAL inclusion on a per-group/email basis.
